Finding Free Campsites!
Australia is a campervan paradise; there are free campsites all throughout Australia. If you need a little help finding them, apps like WikiCamps are a great resource to help you get the most out of your holiday. We have a great article on finding free campsites on our website.
Even though there are many free campsites available throughout Australia, we do recommend that you stay in a paid campsite every second night. This ensures that you have an opportunity to recharge your campervan and get it all topped up and ready for the next days adventure.
Travel during off-peak!
If you can travel out of season a lot of attractions are cheaper when visitor numbers are lower. You also have the bonus of fewer crowds at more in-demand attractions when you travel during the off-peak season.
BYO morning brew!
Australians love their coffee, and going without a morning brew seems like too much to ask even the most seasoned traveller. Our campervans have a kitchen included, so pack some beans and a coffee press and brew your own morning cuppa. Bonus is, you can have more than one!
Dining Local!
Local hidden gems are the place to go if you are dining out. Whether it is the local market, a Mum and Pop cafe hidden away from the main road, or that little place that the locals keep to themselves. Eating out is always cheaper when you find those local gems.

Plan to avoid backtracking!
A well written plan can avoid you backtracking on yourself. Saving both petrol and time. Before you head out list all the places that you want to visit and use tools like Google Maps to help you plan out your journey.
Flexibility is key!
Even though we recommend having a plan, sometimes staying a day or two longer in one location can help you see more on a budget, also being flexible about your travel dates can help. A lot of locations have cheaper rates during the off-season or mid-week. Travelling outside of peak tourist season can help your travel budget go further.
Ask a local!
Locals are the font of all knowledge, they know the best places to eat, grab a coffee or spend the night. Locals are also usually more than happy to share tips and tricks from their own travels, so take notes of the wisdom that they offer.
Local events are also something to keep an eye out for. Lots of small towns have their own local shows, festivals or events that might not be necessarily advertised outside of the local area.
